StephenC.92115 (Customer) asked a question.
I am trying to get Okta working for our Linux servers. So far I have found an LDAP agent, maybe a Radius agent, and something called Advanced Server Access. I do not yet know which one to use.
Our server are a mix of CentOS6 and CentOS7 (with 6 being deprecated and replaced as soon as I get to it). CentOS8 is still under evaluation. All the servers are managed from the command line using secure shell for access. With one exception the ssh servers are configured to allow keys or passwords. The one exception is a bastion server in the DMZ which is keys only.
Passwords are validated using Kerberos for authentication with local accounts controlling authorization. It is my understanding, from reading the online documentation, that Okta may not be compatible with such an approach. Fair enough, I guess.
My question is: Which one of the various methods will work with Linux? I would like to minimize the changes but I accept that may not be possible.

Hello Stephen, We will need to know more about your use case scenario and your environment. Please open a support case with Okta. You can email support@okta.com to open a support case. Thanks
Thank you. I did open a case with support and the technician made it pretty plain that Linux only works with ASA. In a subsequent teleconference, I got the impression that Okta does not really have much experience with serious Linux installations.
