Hello OKTA Experts,
Do I need to be worried about OKTA and Office 365 integration? In case user is using OKTA for o365 license provisioning (aka Universal Sync), can the OKTA "accidently" untick new Teams license from the user in o365? How do i update OKTA with new license type?
Please advise.
Regards,
Serg

Use Teams licenses to control access to Microsoft Teams MC226038
Major update: Announcement started
Applied To: All
We're making some changes to how you enable Microsoft Teams for individual users within your tenant. We're removing the Microsoft Teams enablement setting from within the Microsoft 365 admin center and will rely solely on Microsoft Teams license allocation to decide if a user has access to Microsoft Teams.
Key points:
- Timing: Beginning December 03, 2020
- Control: License allocation
- Action: Review and assess
[How this will affect your organization:]
If a user within your tenant is given an active Microsoft Teams license, they will have access to Microsoft Teams. No additional access checks will be made.
[What you need to do to prepare:]
Before this change takes effect, ensure that you’ve only allocated Microsoft Teams licenses to users who you wish to grant access to Microsoft Teams. If there are users within your environment that you would like to block from Microsoft Teams, please remove their Teams license.

Okta, Inc.
Hi @bbjfw (bbjfw) Okta gets the Office 365 licenses when an admin is performing a "Refresh Application Data" from Applications-> More-> Refresh Application Data. Another way to get the license is by doing a Test API Credentials from Provisioning->Integration->Test API Credentials. In order to update Okta users with new license types, you will firstly need to add the licenses in Office, perform Refresh App Data to sync them to Okta. Once they are in OKta, you can assign them to the users and when you can confirm that users got the new klicenses, you can go ahead and remove the old licenses. Additionally, if there will be major changes and extra steps that needs to be done by customers, there will also be updates on the documentation.
Hello Dan. Thank you very much for coming back with detailed steps. Can you please suggest what is the worst case scenario if OKTA customer does nothing to prepare and does not refresh the Office 365 app? Will OKTA Office 365 clear the non-supported license types on o365 User Accounts on some sync in a future? Thanks.
