EricP.72813 (Customer) asked a question.

Suppress "New" app notification

When we assign a user to an app, the icon appears in their home page with "New" in the corner, and they get a notification pop-up. Is there a way to suppress these?

We're looking at re-deploying an app using a different template. From the end-user perspective, it will be the same icon leading to the same place, but different on the back-end. Having them notified that it is "new" will just confuse and generate calls.

Thanks!

Currently, there's no way to suppress those, and I wouldn't mind having a switch or setting for this in every app's configuration. We have 2 or 3 apps that are assigned to users via AD group membership, and to ensure the accuracy of the assignments, the group memberships are completely removed and rebuilt early every morning. Every now and then, the clearing and rebuild of the group members overlaps with a scheduled import, which means all the users are deprovisioned from the app, then re-provisioned after the group is updated again the next hour. Those apps get flagged as new for everyone. Fortunately, no one has complained but it's a behavior I'd like to eliminate.
