Voon LooL.11874 (Customer) asked a question.

Changing the idp Transaction Expiration

We currently have a setup that connects our organization's identity provider into OKTA as an idp. We found out that whenever a user lingers in our organization's sign in page for too long (around 15 minutes), after cancelling the login we will see a "Social transaction expired" error on OKTA's error page.

From what I can dig up in the docs it seems like there is a "Identity Provider Transaction" in which "Unfinished or cancelled transactions end after about ten minutes."

Are we able to update/change or remove the transaction expiration?

  • Hi VoonLoo Lee,

This is Sergiu from Okta Support. I'd suggest you submit a support ticket with us, so we can take a look and investigate, since it requires our developer's expertise. There's not much I can confirm right now, however, I do believe that is hard coded. I hope this helps.
