SWA password doesnt sync

I'm having an issue with Okta app passwords that don't update when the associated Okta account password changes.

 

We use a number of web applications that tie into our AD to verify credentials. I've set these up as SWA apps in Okta with the signin option "Administrator sets username, password is the same as user's Okta password". When my users change their passwords in AD, these SWA app credentials are automatically updated since Okta is AD mastered. Sometimes, however, the SWA app passwords don't update and my users have to sign into the apps manually. It's not always the same apps that don't update, so I've not found any kind of pattern. 

 

We found that changing the user's password in Okta causes all the app passwords to update, but that's not a real fix for my users. We're still fighting to get adoption of Okta, and this situation isn't winning any converts. Can anyone offer any insight into this issue?

    Thank you for posting on the Okta community! Regarding your question, one thing to test to see if this resolved the issue is to click the 'Update now' icon on the application 'Sign on' tab before carrying out your mentioned work around.

     

    However, as it's a random application each time with inconsistent issues, I'd suggest reaching out to Okta support directly by creating a new case or calling into our support staff to have this matter investigated thoroughly.
