Hi
I´m changing from profile sync to universal sync to be able to sync distribution lists from Active Directory to Office 365. Will existing distribution lists, created in O365 be affected by this?

Please read over the extensive Office365 guide regarding the provisonal types. universal will only work if dirsync or AADConnect is oof, which would break your sync between AD and O365.
Okta cannot sync to DL's, so i hope you understand that the switch will not let you manage DL's from Okta.

The feature to manage DL´s is an early access feature. According to Okta, I should be able to manage DL´s this way.
Could you point me to the release of that, as i havent seen that before

that is a pretty old message april '16 and i've never had it working before.
Maybe DL's in AD will work, but as far as i know, pushing DL's to O365 doesnt work, eventhough that message might state differently.
Only security groups will be pushed from Okta.
