Hi,
I've populated the 'displayName' attribute in users' profiles with their nickname and last name. It has no impact on the appearance of the users' own name in their Okta profile.
E.g., if the legal first and last names are "Samuel' and 'Smith', and I've set the display name to 'Sam Smith', this person's own Okta profile still displays, "Samuel Smith".
Any workarounds for this? Okta Support said this is normal.

Hello,
Please assist with this query from the Community.
Thank you.
Hello Cristopher,
The values stored in the displayName attribute will have no impact in the appearence of the Okta user's profile.
The user profile is based on First Name and Last Name attributes. The displayName attribute upon populating as desired can be used for pushing to other applications that might require it.
However this is a great idea which could be submitted as a feature request on the Okta Community portal so that it can be voted and commented by other members of the community. From there the PM team will review the top 30 most voted upon ideas each month and provide feedback.
Best regards,
In the Netherlands Last Name often contains a prefix like "de", "van", "van der", etc. But for lookup and sorting the last name is used, so these middle names would be registered separately. It would be very much appreciated if the Okta profile can use the displayName instead of concatenating the first and last name.
