update user info on bookmarked apps

Our OKTA updates from our HR software Ultipro. When a user account has been created and used for awhile, then has a name change, we have a few programs that auto update with the new name. In OKTA, the bookmarked item is still referring to the old name so when they user tries to access it, they get an error. I am unable to change the username because of this bookmarked status but if i remove the group that its associated with and re-add, it will break other items associated with that group. Is there any way to get one item out of bookmark status so i can update the user name? do I have to take that app out of the associated group for everyone in order to get it working for one person? I hope this makes sense. I'm still learning.
