t4yav (t4yav) asked a question.

How do I do a bulk import of new users

Currently we have Active Directory sync.  We then enable an user by "undo" of the "ignored" AD user account.  This works fine but when we are onboarding many users at a time this is a lot of effort.  Is there a way to create in bulk (import a list) users in Okta that have already been synced via AD but ignored.  Another solution would be to bulk create users in OKTA that are a member of a security group and leave other AD synced users as ignored.

    Hello Jack,

I've tested your scenario and once those users are on the ignore list, we can't bypass them by confirming the assignments until they are removed from the import ignore list. Your idea with importing/creating them first in Okta and then linking them to AD won't work because Okta will still see the link assignment for those users as being ignored, so it's the same scenario (this is the case where I am presuming you still want your users to be AD mastered).

Having them in the import list doesn't mean they are part of Okta yet so it won't take up your licensing or anything, you could just let them in that list without ignoring and bypass that "ignore" step that you've been using.

If I misunderstood your scenario, please feel free to open up a ticket with Support to take a closer look at your configuration and further troubleshoot this.

    Best regards,
