Do have an attribute on account that is changed in OKTA but not changing in O365

Hi,

We do run a Hybrid exchange / O365 environment and for some reason when i change the msExchHideFromAddressLists attribute to True in AD, It does Sync and the change shows up in OKTA under the user Profile but for some reason it never carries over to O365 to reflect the change.

Any ideas on why this is happening but i should point out that say for password changes on Prem immediately take effect in O365,

Thank you

  • Hi Kalungi,

If the attribute is syncing from AD to Okta, it means that the import is running as intended and it is being updated in the Okta profile.

If you see a succesfull profile push of the user to external application(Office 365) in the system log, as soon as the incremental import is completed, it means that Provisioning works.

If you don't see one, or you see a failed one, then Provisioning failed.

In that case, Please head on to the Provisioning Tab in Office365 app in Okta>API Integration>Edit>Re-authenticate/Test API Credentials>SAVE.

Also, you should go to the Profile Editor to Microsoft Office 365 and check if the attribute is mapped accordingly from Okta to O365.

Afterwards, run a Force Sync from the Provisioning Tab of O365 in Okta>Okta to app

If this does not fix the issue, feel free to open a ticket with Okta and me and my colleagues will be right here to assist you further.

    Thank You,

Kalungi - did you map the msExchHideFromAddressLists attribute from Okta to O365?
