Integrating MS SQL Server Analysis Services (Windows Authentication) with OKTA Compliant Apps

Hi,

We are building Front End User Interface (Python+React) which will be secured using OKTA (OAuth 2.0). There will be further integration to XLCubed WEB which is .Net App communicating to SSAS. XLCubed WEB will be iframed under Fron End UI. XLCubed support Windows Authentication for domain users.

Front End UI will be accessed by non-trusted domain users (belongs to our Active Directories). Once user has been authorized and authenticated using OKTA, how we can integrate XLCubed product which in turn get windows token from Front End and pass to MS SSAS for data query.

We currently have SSAS HTTP setup with Windows Authentication which can accessed domain and non-trusted domain users using AD credentials.

As we are bringing OKTA integration at front end user interface, it is critical to know how will E2E integration will work from non-trusted domain pcs (using OKTA)

MS-AD <--> OKTA <--> FrontEnd <--> XLCubed <--> MS-SSAS

    Hello Amit,

    Emilian here on behalf of Okta's Customer Support Team, thank you for reaching out to us.

    I am having a little trouble understanding what this MS-SSAS token you're referring to is. For the time being, I can tell that we don't officially support this integration, therefore the assistance you can get from our side is slightly limited to the existing implementations.

    You can definitely set up the AD <--> OKTA <--> FrontEnd integration quite easily, however the rest is grey area.

    As we want to make sure you have the best resources at your disposal for the task, what I can recommend you do is take into consideration a potential Professional Services engagement. Their team is expertly suited to assist customers with requests for custom integrations, such as this.  Please note that while the actual engagement with PS is a paid service, a scoping call is free.

    For further assistance we recommend you open a support ticket from under My Cases:
