  • Thank you for posting your question on the Okta Community. The answer to your question depends on your use case:

    • If you want Okta to take over the authentication part instead of Delegated Authentication to LDAP, disable Delegated Authentication for LDAP by navigating to Security > Delegated Authentication > LDAP. This will require you to reset passwords for the all the LDAP users so that users can set an Okta password to login. This will still retain the user's profile to be mastered by LDAP but authentication will be handled by Okta.
    • If you want user profiles to be mastered by Okta, you will have to turn off Profile Master setting under Directories > LDAP > Settings > Import Settings and Disable Profile Master. This will convert all LDAP user profiles to be mastered by Okta.

If your use case is different from what is listed above, I would recommend you to open a case with Okta Support and we will be glad to assist you with your questions.

Thanks Vignesh! Is there any way around asking users to reset their passwords to make it more transparent?
