DavidL.32135 (Customer) asked a question.

Check user session without extending it

I am trying to use this two sessions endpoints:

https://developer.okta.com/docs/api/resources/sessions*get-current-session

https://developer.okta.com/docs/api/resources/sessions*refresh-current-session

to determine the status of a user session.

The problem is that get-current-session seems to be extend the session just like refresh-current-session endpoint and also return the same thing.

  • Hi David,

I've done some testing and I am getting the same results, if you'd like to get this looked into further by support, I'd suggest raising a support ticket from your Okta tenant or calling support directly at 1-800-219-0964.

Again, sorry there is no simple solution to get the outcome you'd like.

    Thank you

    Hello David,

I've escalated this to our support staff. They should be contacting you shortly if they have not already.
