786zz (786zz) asked a question.

Authenticating service account from within Jenkins job.

Hi, my organization uses Okta as an idP (SSO & SAML). We have a service account that we need to use for integration with Jenkins. When we use the authentication API to authenticate outside Jenkins, we can login just fine (a SUCCESS response is obtained and session token is retrieved). But when we try and use the authn endpoint from within Jenkins, we get challenged with a MFA_ENROLL response.

Are there any pointers on how to configure my service account to be able to use it inside Jenkins pipeline?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hello Frederico,

My name is Sergiu, and I'm from Okta Customer Support. It would be best if you could open a support ticket, in order for this to be investigated more thoroughly, considering we need to get additional details about your okta environment, and observe the workflow in order to identify the root cause.
