    Hi,

You can increase the session lifetime by going to Security -> Authentication -> Sign On -> Add New Okta Sign-on Policy on top of the default one. There you can select the groups that will be affected by the change, after which you will be prompted to add a rule. There you will find Session Lifetime at the bottom with the default setting of 2 hours, you can change it to up to a maximum of 90 days.

    I hope this helps,

In order to increase the session lifetime by going to Security -> Authentication -> Sign On -> Add New Okta Sign-on Policy on top of the default one, do you have to have Super Admin access in Okta to do this?

    Hello,

OKTA is prompting to enter the credentials after closing the browser. Session life time has been increased to 9hours but still the same.

If any existing browser is open, then it directly open OKTA dashboard else it will prompt to enter the credentials.

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance.

i dont understand it either , we have an internal zone set for 2 hours, but credentials are being requested for re-authentication after an hour.

Try to get the session information from the API.

    {{url}}/api/v1/sessions?additionalFields=cookieToken

I tried this & found that session lifetime is set to 40 minutes. But I have defined the session life time to 2 hours in OKTA. There is a mismatch. By the way, there is no other way you can play with the OKTA session timeouts.

We need to get the help fro OKTA support team around this.
