What's the best practice for migrating from Google SSO to Okta?
My org is switching from using Google SSO to Okta.  Right now we use Google to auto provision apps like Slack.  What is the best way to switching over to exclusively Okta?  Can you have login with Google and Okta on at the same time?  Do you have to turn off login with Google then turn on Okta?

Need some help here and would appreciate if anyone else has done this same migration.

  • This is Bogdan from Okta support,

This type of setup depends on the Service Provider a lot, for example Salesforce and ServiceNow do allow you to have multiple IDP's integrated within one tenant.

If Slack allows you to have multiple IDP's integrated with them then you should be able to setup Okta and Google SSO.

Looking at the screenshot that is included in this Kb (https://saml-doc.okta.com/SAML_Docs/How-to-Configure-SAML-2.0-for-Slack.html) we can see Google APPs Authentication and SAML 2.0 Authentication, I would assume that both methods are supported, but I would recommend contacting Slack for additional details.

    Thank you,
