Force a re-sync of an individual Okta user from Workday?
We use Workday to master our Okta accounts and sometimes the user doesn't fully sync into Okta (Some fields missing data, even though they exist in Workday).  Is there any way I can re-sync an individual Okta user from Workday without deleting the Okta account (It's Active)?  Is this possible with an API?

 

Also, I have checked the Profile Editor and fields are mapped correctly.

  • I've had luck with just disconnecting the account from workday and re-running the workday sync.  The user should show up on the import screen for a re-match and (hopefully) bring down the missing data

    Hi Nikki, I already tried that and unforunately the problem persits.  I'm really more interested in running something directly against an individual okta account; I have a feeling it's not possible though....
  • Support's answer to me on this is usually "change something in the profile mappings and let it do a resync", which gets everyone, not just the one you want.  Do you happen to have email or phone syncs going back up to Workday?  I have also had luck by changing a person's email (in Okta, not their actual SMTP address) and letting that sync up, then changing it back.  That tends to tickle a sync.

    Hey Johan, are you seeing this before the user offical start date in Workday? There are fields in Workday that will not push into Okta until the start date, one way around this is creating a calculated field in Workday which should push those fields over before the start date.
