Browser plugin auto-submit re-launches application
Hello,

For applications that I have created that launch our client websites I have enabled the Browser plugin auto-submit option under the General Tab > App Settings. When I launch the app from Okta it goes to the correct url and logs me in automatically to the site, which is what I want. However, if I log out of the application, I am taken back to the login page (as expected) but then the browser plugin logs me in again right away causing an unnecessary loop. The only way to close out of the app without this happening is to just close the browser tab, which is not what I want to do.

 

Is there a workaround for this so that if I logout of the app, it won't auto log me in a second time. Any information or advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

    Unfortunately from an Okta perspective I'm afraid not. The Okta plugin is just performing as expected (but I do appreciate this is not your desired outcome). I've seen other companies change the logout experience to the home grown applications, so that when the user selects logout, that it sends them to a page that responds to the user saying they've logged out and provides them with a click link to say, "If you require to log back in select here" type message to then pass the user back to the login page.

     

    Is this a possible option to you?

    We don't currently have an option to do that, but it might be something we could develop if need be. Thank you for your feedback. Dave
