How far back is data retained in System Logs?
Are we able to view historical data forever or is the data purged after a certain time?

- James Garvin - Okta (Okta)It is strongly suggested that you integrate with a SIEM, like Splunk, for archival purposes. Okta also provides an API endpoint to pull the system logs from Okta into your own system(s).
- j5v7c (j5v7c)Customer authentication logs are retained for 6 months in Okta. As James says if a customer requires a longer retention period, they must run their own SIEM.

The System Log data is maintained for 90 days and Service backup data is automatically purged six months after it is first generated.
