  • Hi Paul,

To further explain what Jaypee is mentioning in his answer is: Yes, you can import users from AD without and email address, there is a Profile Mapping that if the email address is null we will default in the Okta Username.

There is the default mapping for email address. The second part of Jaypee's comment is about the Okta Username, when you install the Okta AD Agent the default is to bring in the UPN as the username, this can be changed by what Jaypee is describing in his comments.  In a scenario where you left the Okta Username mapped to the UPN and the email is null, then the email address would be the UPN.

Hope this clarifies everything for you.

    Thanks

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for posting your inquiry in Okta Community.

Definitely, you can import User Objects without Email Attributes from your AD, unless you are creating Users as an Okta Profile Mastered Accounts. You can also set under "Import and Account Settings" to use "Okta username format" as "User Principal Name" (UPN) when importing from AD.

Please let me know if you need any additional information or further assistance. Thank you.

    Best,

    JP
