On Premise Provisioning
Hi All,

We have an Application that is being built by a third party and will be hosted in a cloud offering at some point. They have already implemented OIDC and connected to a test Okta as POC. They need to support user provisioning therefore we pointed them down the SCIM path. They’ve since implemented SCIM.

We just installed the OPP agent and have it connected to Okta. But the option to enable the provisioning only shows up for SWA and SAML apps (could be more) BUT not OIDC apps.

Should it be? If not why wouldn’t that be available for OIDC apps? Are we planning on using it wrong? What other options do we have for that application?

Thanks

Ryan

  • Hi,

My name is Silviu and I am a Technical Support Engineer (Tier II) at Okta.

That is correct as for SAML or SCIM App the path to enable provisioning functionality is a bit more complicated.

Firstly, you have to submit your app on the website below, for our Product Team to review it.

    https://oinmanager.okta.com/

The apps submitted there are not routed through Customer Support, so you will keep in touch with the Product Team directly. You will receive an email from them when they start the process with you. It should be a 4-step process in which you will be provided with runscope tests that need to be passed when you run them against your app, as an example.

For any further assistance please open up a case with Okta Support and get all the necessary pieces of information, if not provided yet.

Wish you all the best in your work!

    Thank You,

    Silviu Muraru

Thanks for the reply, But this application is being built for us and NOT to be publically available. I thought if it going through this route that it would be a publically available OIN Application/ Cheers Ryan
