    Hi Patrick,

Okta does not currently have a setting for concurrent sessions. Depending on what you are trying to do, however, there may be a different setting or configuration that might work for your needs. Can I ask about your use case?

    Thanks,

    Wils

    Hi Wils,

Is it still the case that Okta SSO does not have a setting for maximum number of allowed concurrent sessions?   I have a requirement to allow a maximum of 1 active session for any username.

    Thanks,

    Leo

    Hi Leo,

We don't support any concurrent session controls (as far as I know) today. However, I'd recommend reaching out to your Okta contacts to talk through your requirements to see if there's another option for you that is within Okta's existing products.

    Thanks,

    Wils

    Hi Wils,

We have a requirement for a service account that multiple users would use simultaneoulsy to login via Okta and access our application. Just wanted to confirm if there is any concurrent session limit now?
  • Wils (Okta, Inc.)

That's right, there's no concurrent limit today.  If and when that is supported, it would be a configurable setting so no worries if you have that kind of use case.

Has there been any progress on this feature? A user that is in our headquarters in USA that is concurrently logging in from Beijing would be an immediate red flag for things like Rapid 7, but we're hoping to disable it proactively with Okta.

  • Wils (Okta, Inc.)

    Hi Drew,

Okta has other functionality in place to prevent or require MFA for authentications from distant locations, like the USA vs Beijing scenario you described. However, we do not have limits on concurrent sessions.

    Thanks,

    Wils
