Generate a strong random password functionality
Hello,

We're just getting started with OKTA and I'm interested in trying out the Generate a strong random password functionality desribed in this article - https://support.okta.com/help/articles/Knowledge_Article/Generate-a-Strong-Random-Password

However when I go to the change password page of an application I have configured in Okta (i.e. Microsoft Outlook) I do not got get the Okta change password popup as described in the article.  So I have a couple of questions.

1.  Is this functionality only available for specific applications, if so is there a list somewhere?

2.  Is there a system configuration somewhere that I need enabled?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thanks for posting to the Okta Community! I did some digging and found this feature is not yet availabe but the documentation was still uploaded to our support site. If you are still interested in seeing this feature enabled, please submit a feature request so we can gauge interest and work towards getting it implimented more quickly.

  • Hello Dave,

Drew and I talked about this feature and it turns out that it actually is available provided your org admin enables the option User sets username and password in the app's sign-on settings. Supported browsers are Internet Explorer 11, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. The document has been updated to state these prerequisites. Apologies for the confusion.

Please reach out if you have any questions.

    Thanks,
