Feature request : Use OKTA verify to receive OTP for AD password reset
Hello,

We are using OKTA SMS service for AD password reset but many users have reported issues with OTP.

> Receive OTP after 15-20 minutes.

> Some of the users have to request twice to get OTP.

Using OKTA verify application for OTP seems viable solution(Receiving e-mail for OTP won't be possible as account has either locked out or password is not working). Do you have any plans in future to use OKTA verify for password reset or any alternate solution to replace SMS OTP solution.

    I just upvoted your idea.

Based on a very recent conversation I had with Okta i know this is on the horizon.

  • Hey Parth,

We do plan to address this in 2016 by allowing additional multi-factor options for password reset. However, it's unfortunate to hear that you're experiencing issues with the SMS method. We're working on that. We are in the middle of a process that will improve the reliability and performance of SMS delivery, which I hope can mitigate your pain in the near-term.

Are there any more details you can share about your SMS challenges? Is it a specific user type, location, group, etc. for which these problems occur? Any patterns that you're noticing?

    Thanks,

    Eric

I see that this thread is a little old, but I still don't see an option to use Okta Verify for AD Password resets. Is this still on the road map?
