One O365 Domain, multiple mail domains in AD, application and provisionning
Hello.

We use one Office 365 domain, connected to an AD with 7 mail domains.

I created 7 O365 applications, for each mail domain.

Should each application manage user's provision ? or on the contrary everything must be gathered in one place?

Best regards.

  • Hi Francois,

With regards to O365 being configured with various email domains there are various factors to take into account. For example are you in a Hybrid exchange environment, are you rolling out in a big Bang or incrementally, do you use FIM currently, do you have DirSync already configured each of these can impact the implementation of O365 into Okta. As such it will be hard to provide the right level of guidance with regards to the O365 integration without this information, this form of communication won't be the best place for this as such a support ticket can be raised however I would recommend the following:

    1. Read the following articles for more insight into the integration.

    O365 Deployment Guide:- https://support.okta.com/help/Documentation/Knowledge_Article/Office365-Deployment-Guide

Using Okta with multiple federated domains :- https://support.okta.com/help/blogdetail?id=a67F0000000blNBIAY

If you have read through these and require further guidance I would strongly recommend utilising our professional services team as they will be better able to provide guidance on best practise and assistance in its configuration, to do this you can reach out to your Account Executive or CSM if you have one for your account to help facilitate this. Alternatively a support ticket will also be a viable option to get the help you need.

    Thanks!
