What IE settings does the Okta browser plugin change?
We have an application that uses an ASPxUploadControl to upload a file from the local intranet. When the Okta browser plugin for IE is disabled, this upload function works. When the Okta browser plugin for IE is enabled, the upload function does not work and the following error message is generated, "The server encountered an internal unspecified error that prevented it from fulfilling the request."

We need to know spicifically which settings in IE are changed when the Okta plugin is enabled.

  • Hello and thank you for contacting Okta.

I apologize for the difficulty you’re having with the IE browser plugin. The browser plugin does not in itself change any browser settings but it does install a helper object add-on in IE which facilitates the core Okta functions related to SWA SSO.

Can you confirm that this issue is still occurring in the latest version of the plugin? (currently version 5.5.2) If yes, I can send you instructions regarding how to capture logs of the IE plugin activity which would help us to troubleshoot the issue.

    Thank you,

    Nick
