Calling all Okta customers, partners, and employees!


Many exciting updates are happening in the Okta Community for our customers and partners. To say we’ve been busy would be an understatement. I’d like to introduce you to an all-new, enhanced Okta Ideas program. This was a massive effort and we couldn’t have done it without your feedback, for that we THANK YOU. A lot of work went on behind the scenes to make it happen so we hope you love it as much as we do. 


So, what exactly is Okta Ideas?

Our customers play a huge part in how we develop our products, whether by sharing feedback, requesting features, or offering up new ideas. This of course gives our Product Team lots to think about, from reviewing and prioritizing feedback to making sure customers stay in the loop and informed. That’s where Okta Ideas comes in, allowing our customers to submit feature requests/Ideas for consideration in our Product Roadmap.


So, what’s new about Okta Ideas?

We’ll be the first to admit that the Ideas program hasn’t been given a lot of love lately, but we’ve worked hard to develop a new Ideas framework to amp up the feature request process. Here’s what you can expect:

 

  • New statuses & external messaging: Revamped the statuses within the Okta Ideas portal to easily see the status of your feature request and exactly where it is in the lifecycle. Read more here in our Ideas FAQ
  • New submission prompts: Improvements to the prompts we ask which allow us to get to the root of your feedback. Read more here in our Ideas FAQ.
  • A new process for closing the loop with customers on existing Ideas. We completed a hygiene exercise of former Ideas that had limited engagement or were obsolete and notified those relevant customers of the submission status. If you submitted an Idea prior to January of 2022, please resubmit your Idea so they can be captured and reviewed in our new lifecycle workflow. 


How can I submit an Idea?

Submitting Ideas is super easy. From the Okta Help Center, click the Community dropdown menu and select Ideas. As you fill out the title of your Idea, any similar Ideas will pop up automatically. If there is an existing idea, add your support by “liking” it and/or adding a comment. If there is not an existing idea, click on the “Suggest an idea” button. Learn more about best practices for submitting Ideas in our Ideas FAQ. Please note that only Okta customers, partners, and employees may contribute and submit Ideas.

Our customers play a huge role in how we develop our products. Your ideas help shape our product roadmap and are an important part of Okta’ product planning and prioritization process. We will continue to iterate on the Ideas program so would love your continued feedback.
