How to Start Your Journey in the Okta Community

Hello and welcome to the Okta Community. We're excited you're here!


To get started, you'll want to fill out your profile and set your notification settings.


This will give your peers a sense of who you are and your areas of expertise. Share a photo of yourself (or an avatar, or maybe even your pet!) and basic information about your professional background, skills, and contact details so you can grow your network. You can also customize your email notifications to stay in the loop about posts you've interacted with, things you've subscribed to, and trending news.


To set up your Okta Community profile: 


1. From the Community home page, select the drop-down arrow next to your name

2. Select my profile

3. Select edit

4. Fill in the professional background and skill set you want to share

5. Select save

6. Select the camera icon to the right of your avatar

To set your email preferences: 


1. In the right top corner, click your profile picture 

email pref

2. Select Email Preferences

3. Modify your email notifications by checking and un-checking boxes


If you belong to any Community Groups, you can update your group-specific notification settings directly from the Group's page:


1. Navigate to any group in which you are a member 

2. Select the carrot dropdown next to the mail icon

3. Modify your email notification preferences (we recommend turning them on for every post!)
