Okta Recognized as Gartner's Customers' Choice for IGA

Hey everyone! My name is Chris Burrell and I am on the Analyst Relations team here at Okta, interfacing with the likes of Gartner, Forrester, IDC, and other technology research firms. Before I got my start in AR, I actually worked in knowledge management and community forums for IBM back in the day – so I know the value that a strong community of smart folks brings to the table.

Over the years in my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a lot of different analysts on a myriad of Forrester Waves, Gartner Magic Quadrants, fireside chats, webinars, advisory sessions, etc. A common denominator between all these activities is how impactful customer stories are. Companies can present the coolest feature or product, but if there isn’t a customer using it to back it up, there’s no validation that said thing actually works or adds value out in the field.

I’m coming up on my one year ‘Oktaversary’ and reflecting back on the interview process, remembered that one of the main things that drew me to Okta (other than my awesome manager) was how clear the love for our customers was and how clear it is that customers love Okta. I looked at the various competitive reports, scanned Gartner Peer Insights for customer reviews touting weak points and consistently found positive themes illustrating that Okta truly is a ‘customer first’ company.

That’s why when Okta was recently recognized as a Gartner® Peer Insights Customers’ Choice for Identity Governance and Administration, I wasn’t that surprised. We simply don’t have a problem getting customers to go to bat for us and leave an honest review – going the extra mile along the way has earned us that privilege with our customers.

Combing through the various Peer Insights reviews, themes such as the love for our customer support and customer success shined through brightly. I’m excited about this award and IGA’s future at Okta, but more than anything, I’m thankful to be a part of a company that truly walks the walk with putting our customers first.
