While the Okta Community team strives to spread love to Community members every day, the month of February brings out an extra dose of love and appreciation. To celebrate, we gathered stories from Okta employees and customers about what they love about the Okta Community. Check out what they had to say:

Tim LaBorn

As a Senior Technical Support Engineer at Okta, Tim interacts with customers to provide support and help resolve their technical challenges.

“What I love is that the Okta Community is a real community. It’s a safe place for users to learn from each other’s experiences through discussions and resource-sharing. As a technical support engineer at Okta, I enjoy helping customers solve problems they experience or offering creative workarounds to common challenges. The discussion forums are a low-pressure environment for customers and Okta subject matter experts to collaborate on various topics and dive deeper into specific use cases. I also find the Community to be a helpful learning tool for those just getting started with Okta products and solutions, allowing folks to tap into the self-guided resources and real-world examples from the expertise of other community members.”

Don Furline

As an IT Security Operations Engineer at GIA (Gemological Institute of America), the Okta Community has allowed Don to share his deep technical expertise and establish meaningful connections with a diverse and vibrant community of Okta customers and partners.

“Sharing my knowledge and guidance, contributing solutions to common problems, and providing technical insight on a range of scenarios have afforded me the opportunity to give back while deepening my knowledge of the platform. The Community is a hub for thought-provoking discussions and the exchange of innovative ideas, and it is always developing new opportunities for learning and professional development. “

Hengfeng Ge

As the CTO of Freelink, a Certified Okta Partner, Hengfeng loves helping IT professionals by sharing his expertise and collaborating with like-minded peers to find innovative solutions to complex problems.

“I have a deep passion for the Okta Community and what it represents. Being a part of this community allows individuals to come together and share their experiences, knowledge, and insights, which is something that I truly value. As someone who has gone through the journey of familiarizing myself with Okta, I enjoy helping others facing similar challenges. By providing helpful answers to their questions and sharing my expertise, I am not only able to assist others, but I am also able to gain a deeper understanding of the platform and continue growing my own skills and knowledge.”

Mihai Negoita

My project-1 (3).png

As a Quality Assurance Expert and Community Engineer at Okta, Mihai combines the best of “sharing is caring” with “knowledge is power.

“We’re sharing knowledge of Okta to create quality content through the answers we post while helping our Community members empower themselves with a quick and easy search. Nothing is more annoying when trying to find solutions than wasting time with useless information. That is why we moderators are also a line of defense against bots/spamming that are all too common nowadays. We’re always happy to see Community members helping each other and sharing experiences and expertise. Helping hands are always appreciated, and you can see that through the engagements, likes, badges, and leaderboards.”

Emily Erdman

My project (17).jpg

As a Senior Campaigns Marketing Manager at Okta, Emily is 100% customer obsessed. She has double love for the Okta Community!

“As an Okta employee, I love the opportunity the Community provides for me to connect with our most engaged customers, provide exclusive sneak peeks of what's to come, and communicate the latest and greatest updates that keep them ahead of the curve. As an Okta enthusiast, I love seeing what's trending in the Community, learning about what other Okta aficionados are focused on/solving for, and overall keeping a pulse on what's happening at Okta!"

I’m blown away by the passion our Community members have to help others succeed. Thank you for all of your hard work and contributions that help create such an incredible community for so many Okta users.
