De-mystifying Upgrading to OIE Blog Posts Series!

Authored by: Ruchir Parikh, Senior Product Acceleration Specialist

Okta Identity Engine (OIE) is a free full platform upgrade that delivers both enhanced security and improved user experience. It accelerates the adoption of passwordless, zero trust use cases, while providing the greater flexibility and scalability our customers require to enable secure identity flows. For example, it delivers a new authentication framework that supports app - level policies, advanced device context -  taking Device Trust to the next level -  and plenty of innovative improvements.

A series of 4 episodes to help you be successful in your upgrade

In the past months, our team of experts have been helping our customers upgrade successfully to OIE, and we have compiled key information and best practices along the way.  Today, I am thrilled to share all this information with you in the form of a short, four-episode series “Demystifying Upgrades to Okta Identity Engine”.

The Series is based on a fictitious Enterprise Okta customer - Atko HytekSys - currently on Okta Classic - who plans to upgrade to Okta’s Identity Engine (OIE). We first cover how the upgrade works using the in-app self-service tool. We then move on to the eligibility phase and look at some of the most common blockers that a typical customer might encounter, and how to remediate these.

We also provide plenty of references to critical pieces of the OIE documentation. In the third episode, we will dive into Devices, a critical component of modern identity management. In the final episode, we will go over typical customizations and how to get them adjusted to work on OIE.
