If an end-user has multiple accounts in the Okta Verify application for the same Okta tenant, the Okta FastPass flow will pick up one of the user IDs and initiate the authentication flow. In such scenarios, the end-user has to cancel the FastPass verification flow and click on the Back to sign in button to get back to the user name flow.
This article addresses the possibility of setting up a default account for Okta FastPass.
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Okta FastPass
- Okta Identity Engine (OIE)
When there are multiple accounts registered on Okta Verify for a single tenant, there is the option to designate one of these accounts as the default. To do this, click on the account within Okta Verify. In the upper right corner should be a statement that reads Default for Okta FastPass if the account is already set as the default. If it’s not the default, there will be a button labeled Set as default for Okta FastPass. By clicking this button, that account can be set as the default one. As of now, there is no option to operate without a default account set.
Default accounts will be tied to the specific Okta tenant. Therefore, if there are multiple Okta tenants that have accounts enrolled in FastPass, then each of these accounts will be considered defaults. Only if there are 2 accounts for the same tenant a default account needs to be selected.
