Overview
Verkada provisioning flow fails with the following error visible in the Okta dashboard:
Automatic provisioning of user <username> to app Verkada failed: rec. Errors reported by remote server: Invalid JSON: Unrecognized token 'upstream': was expecting (JSON String, Number, Array, Object or token 'null', 'true' or 'false') at [Source: (String)"upstream connect error or disconnect/reset before headers. reset reason: connection termination"; line: 1, column: 9

Cause
This error is generated because the handshake between Verkada and Okta is failing. Okta is receiving a Service Unavailable error from the Verkada SCIM server.
Solution
- Contact Verkada Support to find out why the Verkada SCIM server is returning the service unavailable error and to assist in implementing a resolution.
- After resolving the issue on the Verkada side, attempt the user provisioning again.
- Go to Okta Admin Console and navigate to Dashboard > Tasks. Any failed assignments should appear under Tasks.
- After identifying the failed task for the user that should be retried, click Retry Selected.
