Cause

The user is using an expired email link to sign in to the Okta Dashboard, and the state token is no longer valid.

Solution
  1. Ensure that the end user is accessing a valid link that is not an expired state token.
    • NOTE: Some users may have saved or bookmarked a link with an expired token that is only valid for a few minutes.
  2. Have the end user go directly to their Okta Dashboard by logging via [domain].okta.com or [domain].oktapreview.com.
    1. Visit and log in to the Okta Dashboard [domain] .okta.com or [domain].oktapreview.com.
    2. Enter the credentials.
    3. Select the Send me an email button.
      Get a verification email
    4. An email will be sent to the user. In order to verify the email, there are two ways:
      1. Enter the email code.
NOTE: Do not use the bookmarked link where the State Token is no longer valid or has expired. Depending on the email settings set by the admin, it will only be valid for a few minutes.
(Screenshot below is the email challenge lifetime set by the admin.)

      2. Click the Sign In button.

  3. The user should be able to successfully log in.
