Updating the Snowflake API Token via Okta API for Custom SCIM Integrations

Okta Classic Engine
Okta Identity Engine
API Access Management

Overview

The Snowflake API token used in custom System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) integrations expires every 90 days, presenting the challenge of needing to update the API key on the SCIM client in Okta every 90 days to maintain a consistent connection.

Applies To

  • Okta Identity Engine (OIE)
  • Okta Classic Engine
  • System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM)
  • Custom SCIM Integrations
  • Snowflake
  • Application Programming Interface (API)

Solution

Does the Okta API support updating authorization credentials for custom SCIM applications?

Okta does not support updating any authorization credentials or tokens, including the Snowflake API token, for custom SCIM applications via the Okta API. Administrators must manually update the token within the Okta Admin Console before the 90-day expiration period.
