Update the Username in Salesforce through provisioning with Okta using the Update now button from Okta.
- The Update now button from the Okta admin UI provides the functionality to update the username on the application side
- Okta Integration Network
- Provisioning enabled > Update users option checked
- Navigate to the Okta admin dashboard > Apps> Salesforce > Provisioning > Uncheck the create and deactivate options (The step can be skipped if they are already unchecked).
- Navigate to the Okta admin dashboard > Apps > Salesforce > Sign on tab > Application username format > Change the custom syntax to the new value > Set Update application username to Create and update.
- Refresh the page and click the Update Now Button.
- Verify and resolve the assignment for any provisioning errors, such as matching user not found.
- Navigate to the Okta admin dashboard > Apps> Salesforce > Sign on tab > Application username format > Set Update application username to Create only.
- Re-enable the create and deactivate options in the Provisioning tab (If they were unchecked at the first step).
