The following reconfiguration has been identified as part of the preparation needed to perform the upgrade to Okta Identity Engine (OIE).

 

NOTE: Additional Okta features may need to be reconfigured or disabled to complete the upgrade. This article provides information and best practices regarding the automatically scheduled upgrade to the Okta Identity Engine.

Great news, the org has been automatically scheduled for the Okta Identity Engine Upgrade!

This is Okta’s latest framework for the Workforce Identity Cloud & Customer Identity platform, which unlocks an enriched end-user experience.

To find out more information about Okta Identity Engine (OIE), visit the Okta Identity Engine Product Hub to learn more about Okta’s new premium features that provide a delightful sign-in experience:

Best Practices for a Successful Upgrade

Actions to Take Today

The system is on schedule, and the upgrade is set to execute automatically. No intervention is needed. For policy changes, it is a good practice to notify end users to prevent additional support inquiries.

The upgrade schedule was determined based on our calendar and trending upgrade patterns. To change this date/time, feel free to do so. Log in as a Super Admin via the banner of the Admin Dashboard, click, and choose a time that aligns with the schedule.

Day of Upgrade

The Okta Identity Engine Upgrade is executed in seconds without any downtime.  During this upgrade, ALL configurations will be seamlessly migrated to the new OIE framework, keeping the sign-in experience (and all existing integrations) intact.

Okta does not expect any impact; however, we advise a quick validation that everything is working correctly. This will also provide a quick glimpse of the enhanced Admin experience.
