Users might receive the following warning when a custom domain is opened in the Edge browser.
This website has been reported as unsafe
This only happens in Edge; the page opens in Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer.
- Management and Monitoring
- Custom Domains
This is caused by Microsoft's Windows Defender Smart Screen.
These Microsoft Edge warnings cite the organization's domain as the host, so someone from the organization will need to report this to Microsoft to get it corrected.
Windows Defender SmartScreen has a built-in feedback system where any false warnings can be reported as quickly as possible. In Windows Microsoft Edge, on the address bar, click Unsafe website > Report that this site contains no threats. This will take the user to a feedback page where the website owner can indicate their status. After submitting the report, a team from Microsoft should take care of the rest.
Another way would be to:
- Click on More Information.
- Click Report that this site doesn't contain phishing threats.
- Click the radial that states: I am the owner or representative of this website, and I want to report an incorrect warning about this.
- Fill in the form.
- Click Submit.
