When configuring SAML authentication for Okta in Slack, before SAML settings are saved, Slack performs a check. Admins may encounter the following error when attempting to save their SAML configuration in Slack:
SSO hasn't been enabled
The SAML Response does not contain the correct Destination, which should look something like https://your-url.slack.com/sso/saml. Please check your Okta settings.
- Slack SAML
- Secure Assertion Markup Language (SAML)
When attempting to save SAML settings and enable SAML Authentication for Okta in Slack, Slack performs a test by sending a SAML Request to Okta and checking the SAML Response received from Okta.
If the SAML Response contains an incorrect "Destination" value, this error will occur. This check is also case sensitive.
The "Destination" in the SAML Response is determined by the value in the "Domain" field on the General tab of the Okta Slack integration in App Settings. Ensure the "Domain" value in the Okta app integration follows the suggested syntax and is all lowercase.
Please type your Domain Name. For example, if you log into https://okta.slack.com/, type: okta
