Overview

This article addresses a session timeout error that occurs during the Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) flow. When a user initiates a password reset and waits more than five minutes on the confirmation page before selecting Send me an email, they are redirected to the login page, and the following error message appears:

 

Your session has expired. Please try to sign in again.

Cause

The timeout period for the Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) email confirmation page is a hardcoded, non-configurable security feature. The standard timeout is approximately five minutes.

Solution

The timeout period for the Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) email confirmation is a default security setting and cannot be modified.
