Okta Report Showing Users Added to a Group Manually or by a Group Rule

Overview
Administrators require a report that lists users assigned to a group manually or by a group rule to monitor resource access and fulfill compliance requirements. Generate a Group Membership report in the Okta Admin Console to view group members and the method used to grant membership.

How is a report generated to show group membership types?
Generate a Group Membership report in the Okta Admin Console and apply filters to view the method used to assign users to a group.
- In the Admin Console, go to Reports > Reports.
- In the Entitlements and Access section, click Group membership.
- Click Edit Filters.
- Select one of the following fields, choose an operator, and then enter an appropriate value:

- Optional: Click Add Filter to add more filters, or click X to remove a filter.
- Click Apply to view the report.
- To download the report, click CSV Export.
The generated report displays whether the user assignment occurred manually (Direct) or via a group rule (By Rule).
NOTE: The source data for this report refreshes periodically throughout the day. A change that occurs after the last refresh might not reflect immediately.
