API Service Integrations allow third-party apps to access the Core Okta API. Other names for these integrations include service-to-service and machine-to-machine integrations. These have different configuration options from custom apps or apps found in the Okta Integration Network (OIN).

- Rate Limits
By default, all new OAuth API apps are set to 50% for each API's endpoint rate limits across the org. For the apps found in the Okta Admin dashboard under Applications > API Service Integrations, this is also the case. The API Service Integrations currently do not have the option to configure the rate limit for each API endpoint, and are set to 50% of the org limit found under the Rate Limit dashboard.
Custom, individual, OAuth 2.0 integrations can still have the rate limits configured under the respective application rate limits tab.
There is an existing Okta Ideas API Service Integrations Rate Limit Enforcement enhancement request: Okta Idea: API Service Integrations Rate Limit Enforcement. Please make sure to vote for this and/or other desired enhancements. For more info on Okta Ideas, see Overview and FAQ.
