This article explains why an installation error occurs when attempting to install the Okta On-Premise Provisioning (OPP) Agent in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments where FIPS mode is enabled. The following error may be observed:

The OPP Agent installation fails because FIPS mode is not a supported environment. One way to check FIPS mode status in RHEL is to run the following command:

fips-mode-setup --check

To successfully install the OPP Agent, ensure the RHEL environment does not have FIPS mode enabled. The OPP Agent installation must be performed in a supported environment.
