Overview

Okta Verify uses a primary loopback port and five fallback ports for probing during phishing-resistant authentication. Administrators require the specific ports used for this process to ensure successful port binding. If more than six instances of Okta Verify operate simultaneously on a server hosting multiple user sessions, the loopback mechanism fails to bind to a port, preventing the successful completion of phishing-resistant logins.

  • Primary loopback port: 8769
  • Fallback loopback ports: 65111, 65121, 65131, 65141, 65151

Concurrent Okta Verify instances prevent successful port binding.

If more than six instances of Okta Verify operate simultaneously, such as on a server hosting multiple user sessions, the loopback mechanism fails to bind to a port. This port-binding failure prevents the successful completion of phishing-resistant logins.
