Okta Verify FastPass Inline Enrollment Limitations on Mobile Device Operating Systems

Overview
Okta restricts Okta Verify FastPass inline enrollment to devices sharing the same mobile operating system as the originally enrolled device. When a user attempts to sign in from a new mobile device using a different operating system than the currently enrolled device, Okta does not offer the Okta Verify inline enrollment option.

Cause
Okta currently restricts Okta Verify inline enrollment to devices operating on the same mobile platform as the initially enrolled device. Okta does not currently support cross-platform inline enrollment between different mobile operating systems.
Solution
When does Okta offer Okta Verify inline enrollment on mobile devices?
Review the following scenarios to understand when Okta offers or omits the Okta Verify inline enrollment option based on the mobile device operating system.
- A user enrolled on iOS and signing in from iOS: Okta offers inline enrollment and permits authentication using other enrolled factors.
- A user enrolled on iOS and signing in from Android: Okta does not offer inline enrollment, but permits authentication using other enrolled factors.
- A user enrolled on Android and signing in from Android: Okta offers inline enrollment and permits authentication using other enrolled factors.
- A user enrolled on Android and signing in from iOS: Okta does not offer inline enrollment, but permits authentication using other enrolled factors.
Configure the User Identification Policy to Initiate the Enrollment Flow
Configure the user identification policy to display the Sign in with Okta FastPass button on the Okta sign-in page. When a user selects this button on a device without an existing Okta Verify enrollment, Okta initiates the enrollment flow.
