Okta Verify Enrollment: Expiration and Username Changes
Multi-Factor Authentication
Okta Identity Engine
Overview

This article discusses whether Okta Verify enrollment has an expiry date and whether changing a user's Okta username requires re-enrolling the Okta Verify authenticator.

Applies To
  • Okta Verify
  • Okta Identity Engine (OIE)
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
  • Devices
Solution

Okta Verify account enrollment does not have an expiry date.

As long as the Okta User ID (00u...) remains the same, a change to an Okta account's username does not affect the Okta Verify enrollment and does not require re-enrollment of the Okta Verify account.

NOTE: The username displayed within the Okta Verify application does not update automatically and remains the old name. To update the displayed username, the user must re-enroll.
