Okta recently launched the Identity Maturity Checklist in the Customer Success Hub, which has helped hundreds of customers to uplevel their security posture.
What is the Identity Maturity Checklist?
The Identity Maturity Checklist delivers personalized recommendations based on your company’s recent adoption data and selected business goals. Unchecked boxes indicate best practices you can implement to achieve your goals, which are accompanied by videos and help center articles to guide you through implementation steps.
This checklist will act as a customized roadmap to help advance your identity maturity and achieve your desired business outcomes.
Where can I find my Identity Maturity Checklist?
The Identity Maturity Checklist is housed within the Customer Success Hub in the Okta Support Center. For qualifying accounts on Silver and Gold Premier Success Plans, you can find your checklist in the “Your Identity Maturity Checklist” section at the top of the page. If you do not see this section, this means you do not have access to view the experience.You will first be asked to submit your business goals for using Okta, which will then unlock a personalized experience. This will show where you are in your identity maturity journey and what steps remain to continue to improve your Identity Maturity.
What is the Identity Maturity Model and What Does My Stage Mean?
Okta’s Workforce Identity Maturity Model (IMM) is a comprehensive framework for strengthening security and governance, raising productivity, and increasing efficiency through Identity. It is a framework based on patterns across Okta customers that maps identity progress across four stages: 1. Fundamental, 2. Scaling, 3. Advanced, and 4. Strategic. It aligns with the CISA Zero Trust Maturity Model and supports the trust tenets defined in NIST’s Zero Trust Architecture (SP 800-207), including continuous evaluation and least privilege access.
Your IMM stage is calculated by measuring your usage of Okta across core features and capabilities that are proven to increase security posture and performance. The Identity Maturity Checklist is built to show gaps between your progress to date and what steps are still required to maximize identity and security outcomes.
By understanding your Identity maturity, you will learn how to best focus your efforts and investments, and position your business to more easily scale in response to new and emerging threats as well as shifting end-user demands.
What is the difference between the Identity Maturity Checklist and the Identity Maturity Plan?
Silver Premier Success Plan customers have access to the Identity Maturity Checklist, which includes recommendations, Okta Learning content, and other educational assets.
Gold Premier Success Plan customers have access to the Identity Maturity Plan, which includes everything in the Checklist, along with additional key resources to drive increased value — such as on-demand activation data with peer benchmarking comparisons, Expert Learning Pass information, and the ability to collaborate with an Okta Customer Success Manager.
Who has access to the Identity Maturity Checklist / Plan?
The Identity Maturity Checklist is currently available to accounts that meet the following criteria:
- Gold or Silver Premier Success Plan
- Okta Identity Engine (OIE) platform
- Okta Workforce Identity only
- Not available for compliance orgs
- Production Orgs only
For accounts that meet the criteria listed above, the following contact levels will be granted permissions to view the checklist:
- Super Admins
- Executive Sponsors
