Okta Global Policy Rule Does Not Display Behaviors Under the Behavior Is Section
Last Updated:
Overview
The behavior field in an Okta Global Session Policy rule does not function as a standard dropdown menu, requiring administrators to type the behavior name to view options. When configuring a Global Session Policy rule, the AND Behavior is section appears empty and does not display a dropdown list upon interaction.
Applies To
- Okta Identity Engine (OIE)
- Global Session Policies
- Behaviors
Cause
The AND Behavior is field does not act as a standard dropdown menu. Clicking the empty field does not trigger a list of available behaviors, which creates the appearance of an issue.
Solution
How is a behavior added to a Global Session Policy rule?
Navigate to the Global Session Policy settings in the Okta Admin Console, then edit or create a rule and enter the specific behavior name in the field to generate the dropdown list.
- In the Okta Admin Console, go to Security and select Global Session Policy.
- Select the Global Session Policy and select Add Rule, or select the Edit (pencil) icon to update an existing rule.
- Locate the AND Behavior is section.
- Enter the first two to three letters of the desired behavior name, or copy and paste the exact name into the field.
- Select the behavior from the dropdown list that appears.
