Okta Event Hook Preview Does Not Honor Configured Filters
Last Updated:
Overview
Administrators observe that the Okta Event Hook Preview displays all events in the dropdown menu, regardless of the configured filters. This occurs because the preview feature provides an example of the payload delivery and does not apply event hook filters. Administrators must understand this expected behavior and rely on actual events to verify filter functionality.

Solution
Why does the Okta Event Hook Preview ignore configured filters?
The Event Hook Preview feature operates independently of the filters applied to the event hook itself. Okta designs the preview feature exclusively to demonstrate the payload structure and to test the connection to the external endpoint. Okta does not evaluate or honor event hook filters within the preview interface.
This is expected behavior, and the preview does not restrict the events to match the configured filter.
