OIG - Access Requests: How to Manage User Notifications
Identity Governance
Okta Classic Engine
Okta Identity Engine
Overview

In Okta Identity Governance (OIG) Access Requests (Classic and Resource Centric Access Requests (RCAR)), users are automatically subscribed to email notifications. Once those integrations have been configured, Slack/Teams notifications are also enabled by default for users.

Access Request notifications are split into 2 categories:

  • New requests and updates - These will contain information about requests to which the user has been assigned or updates on requests that they are following.
  • Notifications about expiring requests are sent 30 days, 5 days, and 1 day before the request expires. See Okta Identity Governance - Access Request Expiry.

NOTE: As of version 2025.02.0, daily reminders are no longer sent. They are replaced by the Request Expiration notifications referenced above.

In some cases, users may only want a unique combination of notifications.
